Review : "Sound Thoma"

The change in composition and appearance won't help out the makers of "Sound Thoma", in fact here's the case of bizarre script spoil the party and same old repetitive rendition takes out the rest of the hope from this film. Vysakh directed Malayalam movie "Sound Thoma" is only for the fans of Dileep and who's looking for some awkward humour . At last don't put on any expectations.., Sound Thoma disappoints and we leave it on you as its your choice....

Lets dive into the story, Plapparambil Paulo (Sai Kumar), a miser and he has his family consist of three sons, Plapparambil Mathai alias Musthafa (Mukesh), who is out of the family for his marriage with
a Muslim girl. Younger one is Thoma (Dileep), who born with the cleft lip, but his father never gone for his treatment for the reasons that it is god gifted, which later on effected the study and voice of Thoma in many way. However Thoma and his father shares the special bonding.

After getting through, Thoma tries to gain the love of Sreelakshmi (Namitha Pramod) works as a RJ and her father (Vijaya Raghavan) is a music teacher and wants her daughter to marry a singer. In this way Thoma decides to learn singing, where most of the time he find himself in derision. With to put some suspense a revenge seeker arise to take you to the end of the proceedings.

Director Vysakh and scenarist Benny P Nayarambalam have treated the main characters disability to the humour level and somewhere it looks tiresome. Benny P Nayarambalam on his recent scripts trying on the old formulas which he had dissolved in his past films. Vysakh again gave a thought of a masala film, but sorry to say it won't work this time. Visuals are as usual by Shaji Kumar, same goes for the editing by Mahesh Narayanan. Gopi Sundar's songs are nice at times with the lyrics of Rajeev Allunkal, Murugan Kattakada and Nadirsha.

Dileep don the Thoma character with the top class because of his mastery in this type of characters, meanwhile his rendering style reminds many of his earlier characters on the same pattern. Sai Kumar grabs the most from his character and delivers the best. Namitha Pramod hasn't got any major part to showcase her talent. Mukesh, Suraaj Venjharamoodu, Nedumudi Venu, Joju, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Reshmi Boban, Vijaya Raghavan and others have given their ample support to the characters. For the banner of Priyanjali Films, Anoop is the producer of this Malayalam movie "Sound Thoma".
