Endemol to remake Malayalam film "Traffic" in Hindi

Endemol India acquires the Hindi rights of Traffic
Television production house Endemol India has announced the remake of trendsetter Malayalam movie "Traffic" in Hindi, which was released in the year 2011. The newly launched Eyedentity Motion Pictures will produce this remake, which is the subsidiary of Endemol India.

 Rajesh Pillai directed Malayalam film "Traffic" considered as the stepping stone of said wave of new generation cinema, since then many experimental Malayalam films have thronged their way to the theatres. Rajesh Pillai will also direct the Hindi remake, while the scripting has been done by Suresh Nair, who had scripted the movie "Kahani" directed by Sujoy Ghosh, which got the
critical and commercial success with the scintillating performance of Vidya Balan.

 The film connects the five different peoples from their respective fields on a particular incident and how they deal with the incident is the theme of "Traffic". As per the reports Manoj Bajpai will do the major character along with Bengali superstar Prosenjit, while Parambrata (acted in Kahani) will make it to the cast. The film will go on the floor by July and scheduled for the release by the end of 2013.

 On this remake version, CEO of Endemol India, Deepak Dhar said that "Our acquisition of Traffic heralds the advent of Eyedentity Motion Pictures in mainstream Bollywood cinema. At Endemol, we have always believed that if the content is strong, it will always find its audience and Traffic meets that criteria in every respect....,". Recently Traffic's Tamil version "Chennaiyil Oru Naal" has made it to the theatres, which is being produced jointly by Raadhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen (producer of Malayalam version).

 If everything goes well "Traffic" too make its presence felt at the Bollywood as well.....
