Review : "Cousins" Malayalam movie

Again director Vysakh returns to his old formula lane of 'multi-starer with rich visuals' in "Cousins" movie. As it is a festival time, so it might chances that this kind of vacuous attempt could easily become the choice for audience. Despite of so-called huge budget, film has failed to meet the fruitful standard. At last, message is don't expect too much from these Cousins......

 It is about four cousins Sam (Kunchacko Boban), Joji (Indrajith Sukumaran), Pauly (Suraj Venjaramoodu) and Tony (Joju George). In which Sam is suffering
from memory loss after getting involved in fatal accident. Some incidence from his past are still fresh in his mind and started to search for its existence.

 On doctor's advice, three of them in cousins, decides to recollect all those happenings in Sam's past through a journey. Along their way to destination, they made their halt to Chandragiri Palace, where these cousins find their solace in Arathi (Vedhika) and Mallika (Nissha Aggarwal). There on with some unexpected happenings, story moves to the climax....

 Just to put up a festival film, scenarist Sethu has gone beyond to stick to his threadbare storyline. Script even didn't manage to spark that instinct of entertaining stuff. Vysakh again returned in his territory of masala flicks, but seems to have lost all in middle after some smooth buildup.

 On technical side, Shaji's cinematography work was nice as the canvas was larger so does the visuals as well. Art director did it convincingly to make frames more colourful. M Jayachandran find suitable spot with some good songs.

 Kunchacko Boban and Indrajith Sukumaran were totally wasted in their respective characters. The other two Suraj Venjaramoodu and Joju George also put up a meagre show on comical front. Vedhika, Nisha Agarwal, Pradeep Rawat, Manoj K Jayan, Nedumudi Venu, Kalabhavan Shajon, Kailash, Balachandran Chullikkadu and others are also there in the cast as mute spectator.
