15 years past for classic music...............

"Parvanarajnithan" was the song of the Malayalam movie "Veliyazhcha", he first sang and later on K.J.Yesudas, his friend and well wisher invited him to the world of music direction. His name is Raveendran, popularly known as 'Raveendran mash' among the music lovers.


 On 1941, 9th November, Kullathupuzha in Kollam was the place where Ravi born. On his early schooling, Ravi was hardly able to made it to the studies. After completing his formal schooling, he joined Swathi Thirunal College of Music, Trivandrum. In this journey of
learning music, K.J.Yesudas was his companion, where Ravi struggled through to get his first opportunity as a singer.


     Kullathupuzha Ravi was his earlier name, but later changed it to Raveendran, started his career by singing some songs under the belt of noted Music directors like Baburaj, lack of chances in the singing field downs his confidence to became a singer. Raveendran then turn on to the dubbing field and chose to sing for some orchestra troops. In 1979, Director J.Sasikumar ask Raveendran to compose songs for his film "Choola" in which one of the song "Tharake Mizhithalil" sung by K.J.Yesudas was the hit. From there on Raveendran never looked back and composed thousands of songs to become Malayalam Music Lovers own "Raveendran Mash".


     His songs which created craze among the fans include "Thenum Vayambum", "Ottakambi Naadam", "Pramadavanam", "Harimuraliravam", "Enthini Veroru Suryodayam", "Sreelavasantham", "Gange" are few his great songs.


        Raveendran mash's music bestowed upon on films like "Thenum Vayambum", "April 19", "Lal Salam", "Keezhakunarum Pakshi", "Ganamela", "Sukhamo Devi", "Deshadanakilikal Karayarilla", "Aye Auto", "Chambakullam Thachan", "Amaram", "Bharatham", "Abhimanyu", "Kanmadam", "Venkalam", "Mazhayethu Munpe", "Ayal Kathayezhuthukayanu", "Aram Thampuran", "His Highness Abdullah", "Nandanam", "Mizhirandilum".


           Raveendran Mash's last works included films "Vadakumnathan" and "Kalabham" were released posthumously. One of his compsed song also used in the recently released malayalam movie "Mullaserry Madhavankutty Nemam P.O.", Apart from that Raveendran mash also tuned many Devotional and Musical albums in which one include "Vasantha Geethangal".


      Raveendran mash's companion in the real life was his wife Shobha and their children's are Rajan Madhav (Film Director), Sajan Madhav (Music Director) and Naveen Madhav (Playback Singer). On March 3, 2005 in Chennai, Raveendran mash left all the music lovers following a cardiac arrest.
