Review : The King and The Commissioner
If you are hoping to get refreshing story with the get together of Shaji Kailas and Renji Panicker, then you might get disappointed, because Malayalam movie "The King and The Commissioner" is only caricatured with the dialogues and star power of Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. It may be liked by the fans, but story point weak this "The King and The Commissioner".
Story came to point, Thevallaparambil Joseph Alex essayed by Mammootty, who is an IAS and a high profile officer with the central government and assigned a job to investigate the murder mystery of Intelligence bureau experts. He was recommended by union home minister G.K. performed by Janardhanan. By moving ahead of this case, one more brilliant officer joins Joseph Alex as his deputy, he is non other than Bharath Chandran I.P.S. enacted by Suresh Gopi.
In this process of investigation, they came
to the verdict that border crossed nation helping some of the peoples to support the terrorist activities. In this terrorist wire one of the powerful bureaucrat Raman Madhav summarised by Jayan Cherthala and a swami chandramauliswara performed by Sai Kumar, a corrupt police officer done by Devan were involved. In the character of Swami, Sai Kumar looks like copying the character of Narendra Prasad's swamy. Samvrutha Sunil performed the character of Nanda, daughter of Minister G.K. and Journalist, who has some soft corner for Joseph Alex.
Both Director Shaji Kailas and Script Writer Renji Panicker mostly explored the star status of Mammookka and Suresh Gopi, but could make much more effort with the other characters, which might gave a better experience to the audience. KPAC Lalitha, Mohan Agashe, Sanjana, Nedumudi Venu, K.B.Ganesh Kumar, Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijay Raghavan, Salim Kumar and others came up with the usual performances.
Mammootty almost steal the show with the screen presence, while Suresh Gopi done it with the dialogue punches. Although there were mention of some real time incidences in the movie to make it a lively one, well it is the wide release so one can expect a hit from this malayalam movie "The King and The Commissioner". For the banner of Emperor Cinema, Anto Joseph is the producer of this malayalam film. DOP is done by Bharani K.Dharan, Shaji Kumar and Sharvanan and Editing is performed by Samjath. Play House Release are the distributors of "The King and The Commissioner".
