Sreebala K Menon : Latest entrant in director's league

Another female director in Malayalam cinema
Malayalam cinema haven't seen too much of female directors and thanks to few female bravado's, who have shattered the barriers to enter the front row. Latest entrant to the female directors league is Sreebala K Menon, who has associated veteran director Sathyan Anthikad in many films including his recent directorial "Oru Indian Pranayakadha". Her first movie as independent director would be a family oriented subject.

 As per the reports Sreebala K Menon storied and scripting this untitled movie will star
Sreenivasan, Asif Ali and Suhasini in the central characters. Sameer Thahir would wield the camera for this one and the producer is Sethu Mannarkkad, who is also a production controller. Sreebala has assisted Sathyan Anthikad in many movies starting from "Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka", while with the movie "Bhagyadevatha" she became associate director.

 Many of you may don't know about the writer hidden in her, Sreebala K Menon has won Kerala Sahithya Akademi Award in 2005 for her book '19, Canal Road'. She has also known for her documentaries and short films with the backdrop of civil society. Her arrival pick up the number of female directors in the industry to three.

 Already Anjali Menon has established herself as a filmmaker with "Usthad Hotel" and "Manjadikuru", while her latest directorial venture movie "L For Love" is a multi-starrer one. Next one is Revathy S Varma, who has directed the movie "Maad Dad" with Lal and Nazriya Nazim in the lead. On her debut Malayalam movie as director, we wish Sreebala K Menon all success for future endeavors....
