Theatrical Release : "Papilio Buddha"

Stage is all set for the release of the controversial film "Papilio Buddha", which was in news for the use of iconic leaders name, whether it's language or in its way of making, every bit was taken as suspicious activity during the films certification. Director Jayan K.Cherian recently won the best debut director at the Kerala Film Critics Association for this movie. The film is slated for March 15th release.

 "Papilio Buddha" was not allowed the screening at the 17th International Film Festival of Kerala (IIFK), which raised some eyebrows between the director
and jury chairman Sibi Malayil. The film centers around the atrocities on the dalit community lives around the western ghats and its impact on the environment. It was completely picturized at the locations of Wayanad.

 Silicon Media and Kayal Films banner, Prakash Bare and Thampy Antony jointly produced this film has Sreekumar, Kallen Pokkudan, David Briggs, Saritha, Prakash Bare, Padmapriya, Thampy Antony, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair and others in the cast. Jayan K.Cherian written the film, while dialogues have prepared by P.Surendran. Visuals have adapted by M.J.Radhakrishnan. Sujoy Joseph is the editor.
