7 Malayalam films selected for Indian Panorama section in IFFI 2014
Malayalam movies again made their possible effort to get more entries in Indian Panorama section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014 edition, which is going to take place between Nov. 20 to 30 at Goa. Total of 26 films in the segment in which 7 selections came in favour of Malayalam. Official announcement is yet to be made.


 A K Bir headed jury have selected the films, in which maximum entries were
came from Malayalam filmmakers, reported to be around 42. Seven Malayalam films are - Abrid Shine's "1983", Ranjith's "Njaan", Shaji N Karun's "Swapaanam", Rajeev Ravi's "Njan Steve Lopez", Jeethu Joseph's "Drishyam", Venu directorial "Munnariyippu" and Anil Radhakrishnan Menon's "North 24 Kaatham".

 All these films have made their impression on film making. In which "Drishyam" went on to broke all box office collection records in Malayalam cinema history. "1983" emerged as a winner in sports based genre. "Munnariyippu" brings a different approach of a man, who is imprisoned for long time. Ranjith's "Njaan" concentrates on life of 'K T N Kottur' with pre-independence backdrop.
